The IAA24 will take place in the Hotel “Dubrovnik”, situated in the main city square. The Hotel is easily accessible by different tram lines directly from the main train and bus stations. If you’ll arrive by plain, Zagreb airport is connected with the city centre (main bus station) by public transport (bus line 290) which operates every 35 minutes (http://www.zet.hr/en) and with shuttle bus operated by Pleso prijevoz.

Dear IAA24 Participants,

As the symposium draws ever closer, we would like to remind you of a few important things.

• Oral Presentation Upload:

The deadline for uploading the oral presentation is the morning your presentation is due. Please bring it on a USB stick and give it to the technical staff. Oral presentations will last 10 minutes + 5 minutes for discussion. The congress room has standard equipment for presentations in Power Point format with 16:9 projector/screen.

• Posters:

The poster presentations should be a maximum of 120 cm x 80 cm in size (portrait orientation). Posters should be set up on 16 September at the Dubrovnik hotel in the room next to the lecture room and dismantled by Friday 20 September. Participants presenting posters must be with their posters during the poster sessions according to the schedule.

• Payment Information:

Please note that only cash payments will be accepted at the symposium. If you have any pending payment queries, please contact Tihomir at iaa24@alpe-adriatours.com to resolve them.

• Symposium Dinner:
  

The symposium dinner will take place on Thursday, 19 September at 19:00 in the Saloon Club. The address is Tuškanac 1, 10000 Zagreb (see map). We want to make sure the party’s just right for everyone, so pick a song you’d love to hear on the dancefloor and send the title and the name of singer or band over to imaguire@biol.pmf.hr.

Also, don’t forget to bring your best crayfish-themed items for our traditional auction! The top picks will be auctioned during the official dinner, while the rest will go up for silent auction in a separate room.

• Pub Quiz:

The pub quiz (general knowledge with a crayfish twist) will take place on Tuesday 17 September at 20:00 in the Teniski tereni pub (Ulica Vjekoslava Klaića 3 – see map). If you would like to take part, please sign up when you register, as the number of teams (5 people per team) is limited. You can either choose a team or be randomly assigned to one.

• Field Trip to Plitvice, September 18, 9:30AM:

Two buses will depart on Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM from Trg Nikole Zrinskog (in front of the Meteorological station/column – see map). Please bring a hat, sunscreen, walking shoes and water (and if you want a light snack). We will have a late lunch close to the national park. The detailed itinerary of the trip is on the web-page.

• Field Trip after the Symposium, Saturday 21, 9:00 AM

If you registered for the field trip on Saturday 21, the bus will depart at 9:00 AM from Trg Nikole Zrinskog (in front of the Meteorological station/column – see map). Please bring a hat, sunscreen, walking shoes and water. The detailed itinerary of the trip is on the web-page.

The deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to 7th of August 2024 but we encourage delegates to submit their abstracts as soon as possible.

Please prepare your abstract (for both oral and poster presentations) according to the provided template Abstract model.

Traditionally, during the IAA24, there will be an auction organised. The auction money/collected funds are intended for Student travel awards. If you would like to participate, then, please, bring something with you that you could offer for the auction.

A pub quiz (general knowledge with a crayfish twist) will be organised on Tuesday evening (17th of September). If you would like to participate, simply book your space at the registration desk. The number of participants/teams is limited.
